  NICOLAS LAINEZ was born on the 7th May 1975 as a French-Spanish national. After cinematographic studies at Montepellier University and Universite de Montréal he started his career as a photographer in Paris – working for Magnum Photos, Agence VU, Agence France Presse, Agence Rapho and La Gazette. Since 2000 he is focussing on the issues of prostitution, trafficking and AIDS in Asia. His photoseries ”Kamathipura Paradise” (Bombay Brothels) won him the ”Young Reporter”-prize at the International Festival Scoop & Journalism in Angers/ France 2001. His book and an exhibition called ”Phnom Penh, Red Light Areas” were presented at FNAC galleries together with the French NGO ”Pharmaciens Sans Frontières in France, Spain, Swiss, Belgium and Taiwan.   MASARU GOTO has 13 years experience in photographing social and human rights issues in Southeast Asia and South America. He is a member of Asia Works Photography in Bangkok and won the prestigious Fifty Crows Foundation award for Documentary Photography (former the Mother Jones award) for his photos essay on Human Rights Colombia. For the past four years, Masaru has devoted himself to a work-in-progress on the AIDS crisis in Cambodia. His photos portray the stigma and abandonment experienced by many people living with HIV/AIDS and their families. This work was presented at the Bangkok International AIDS conference in July 2004. Masaru's images of HIV/AIDS in Cambodia won two prizes for "The River of Life" World Health Organization (WHO) photo competition. PHOTO_01 PHOTO_02 PHOTO_03 PHOTO_04
   
  KERSTIN DUELL took on South East Asia Studies, Latin America Studies and Political Science in Berlin and completed her MA at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. Recently, she has started a PhD scholarship at the National University of Singapore. She has worked on Afghanistan for the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation in Berlin and on Burma for UNESCO’s World Heritage Centre in Paris. From November 2002 to May 2004, she has lived in Bangkok working as a researcher and photographer on Burmese issues. Duell`s works were exhibited at UNESCAP and the Goethe Institute in Bangkok. She worked for publications such as International Herald Tribune (UNESCAP supplement), The Nation Bangkok, Dharmalife, SEAMEO Arts and Archeology, Heinrich-Böll Foundation (exhibition catalogue).
